Blessed for Devotion

Zadok was a high priest, who served David during the revolt of Absalom. During the revolt, he carried the ark of the covenant with him.

Later, in a time of transition, Adonijah attempted to declare himself King. Instead, David order Zadok to anoint Solomon King.

In every time of upheaval, Zadok proved himself faithful to the king and God.

Later, his household became renown for their faithfulness, even when the rest of the Levites strayed.

It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.

Ezekiel 48:11

Some even believe that the lineage and influence of the Zadokites can be traced the community who wrote and kept the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Faithfulness is the reward that cannot be measured. The devotion throughout the lineage of Zadok is an aspirational goal for my everyday life. I aspire to be faithful, live a life of devotion and allow my calling to push me to be faithful in every aspect of my life.
