Reveal My Heart

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Luke 12:1

While on Earth, one of the noted elements of Jesus’ ministry, was his relationship with the Pharisees.

He saw them as untrustworthy, more beholden to their interpretations of scripture than the understanding of God, and status seeking.

He saw them as they were; fake, not desiring true relationship, and condemning of those with real needs instead of lifting them up.

Jesus showed a spotlight into the hearts of the Pharisees. They were found wanting.

I pray that in my life, my heart can be shown to be clean.

Though I struggle, I pray that my desire to follow after Jesus remains sincere and clean.

Condemnation of others has no place in my heart.

Neither does seeking elevation over others.

My desire to stay focus on Jesus and what he has for me, instead of the status and trappings of men.
